Fall Light, Oil Painting 24" x 48"

This unique exhibition is a collaboration between poets and artists, combining the spoken word with image. Tracy Slaughter and I are collaborating by exhibiting Tracy's poem "Spirit" with my oil painting "Fall Light".  This process is "Ekphrasis" -- using art to inspire poetry & the creation of art from the inspiration of poetry. This is the second year Tracy and I have collaborated with our creative processes.

I am a member of the Women's Caucus for Art, a National Women's Artist Organization. Our Colorado Chapter of this organization is hosting this exhibition of members works.

The WCA Colorado chapter of the National WCA was founded in 1990. The Mission of the group is to create community through art, education and social activism by supporting women artists, by creating leadership opportunities, and by offering exhibition opportunities. The title of this year’s Annual Member’s Show was chosen because it represents the action of solving a problem or making a decision. The key word being ‘action’. With over 30 Members, our Colorado Chapter is proactive in support of women artists and is making plans for community, art, and action in 2019.
